Hello, we are the Bouckaert family,

proud owners of Elandsvlei Estate! Margaux is originally from Belgium and Nicolas from the United States. Our story begins in 2011 as sparks flew when seated next to each other at a wedding in Belgium! Margaux then moved to America, and before long, we were married in December of 2013. Nicolas was working in the flooring industry and producing music festivals, while Margaux was busy in the Agribusiness focused on animal feeds and meat processing.

Through Margaux's love for African travel and Nicolas' passion for wildlife and the African bush, we decided to embark upon a new life adventure in Africa after the birth of our eldest daughter Claire in 2015.  After exploring different properties around southern Africa, we found our new home here at Elandsvlei Estate in the heart of the beautiful Waterberg Mountains of Limpopo, South Africa!

We moved here in June of 2016 and founded Elandsvlei Estate, a 3000 Ha private game reserve focused on the breeding of the African Cape Buffalo and other wildlife species and home to several exclusive lodges in the heart of the bush!  In December 2017 Laura joined the family and in July 2020, Alexander became the newest addition to the family!

We welcome visitors from all around the world to enjoy the beautiful African wildlife as well as the exclusive peace and tranquility of Elandsvlei Estate, our magestic home here in the Waterberg Mountains.
